5th Annual
We are proud to be sponsoring the 5th Annual Louise de Marillac Series: Women, Spirit and Action in conjunction with the worldwide celebration of the 350th anniversaries of the deaths of Sts. Louise and Vincent in 2010.
This year, we are expanding our programs to include an "I Am Louise" campaign and "Praying with Louise" workshops in addition to our traditional Honoree recognition program. Watch for more information about all these upcoming events in the Winter quarter.
And Save the Date: Honoree recognition gathering and dialogue will be on May 19th from 3-5p.m. in Courtelyou Commons on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. You will not want to miss this dynamic event.
For more information, please contact Katie Brick.
About St. Louise
St. Louise de
Marillac was a
wife, mother,
nurse, social
worker, teacher,
and community
organizer in
17th Century
France who
collaborated
with St. Vincent
DePaul to serve
the poor. She
educated women
to help serve
those most in
need and founded
a community of
religious women
that exists to
the present day
— the Daughters
of Charity.
Louise acted
from a deep
place of faith
in God and out
of a sense of
love and joy
rather than
obligation.
Whether our
endeavors are
humble or grand,
Louise de
Marillac's
spirit continues
to inspire us to
take our beliefs
and put them
into action.
