University
Ministry
provides what we
call “Pastoral
Care” in the
Loop. Pastoral
Care involves
working with a
Chaplain around
issues such as
one’s spiritual
life,
relationships,
stress, grief,
ethical
dilemmas, prayer
requests and
many other
concerns that
arise in one’s
life.
Chaplain
Katie Brick
serves students
from Commerce,
Kellstadt, and
SNL.
Tom Judge
serves the Law
School and CTI.
Please contact
them around the
following
areas:
Spiritual
Accompaniment:
One-on-one
dialogue with a
Chaplain about
your journey of
faith as you
explore and
deepen your
relationship
with God or
discuss issues
that deeply
impact your life
and
spirituality.
Schedule an
appointment or
just swing by
their offices on
the 11th
floor of the
DePaul Center.
Prayer
Service/Memorials:
We encourage
people from Loop
schools to
contact their
Chaplain,
Katie
or
Tom,
to help
coordinate
prayer or
memorial
services that
provide the
opportunity to
gather together
as a community,
large, or small,
to offer an
appropriate
celebration that
responds to a
specific loss or
issue.
Death:
When a death
occurs within
the DePaul Loop
Schools, the
appropriate Loop
Chaplain should
be kept
informed. They
can help gather
necessary
information
regarding
services while
being attentive
to the needs of
family and
friends.
Hospital Visits:
Chaplains are
happy to provide
pastoral care
services during
times of
hospitalization
of a student,
staff person or
faculty member.
When
appropriate, a
Chaplain will
visit in the
hospital,
provide prayers
and/or send a
card to the
affected
parties.
Prayer
Requests:
Specific prayer
requests may be
submitted to a
Chaplain by any
member of our
DePaul Loop
Community.
Spiritual
Direction
Referrals:
Looking for a
spiritual mentor
to connect with?
Searching for a
deeper
connection to
your faith? Want
to talk with a
trained
minister, lay or
ordained?
University
Ministry
Chaplains can
refer you to a
trained
Spiritual
Director to
discuss your
faith in a
comfortable and
inviting
setting.
