Protestant Chaplain

Diane Dardón graduated from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago with a Masters of Divinity and is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She came to DePaul in 2011 from Northern Illinois University where she served as campus pastor prior to that she was called to campus ministry at the University of Northern Iowa. In addition to her work within the academic realm, Diane is very involved in community service and global mission work. She and her husband, Estuardo, have spearheaded the building of a school in Guatemala, and have engaged hundreds of students and others in immersion trips to Mexico and Guatemala over the past ten years.

Diane’s undergraduate degree in education has opened many doors to teaching and learning opportunities. And, she has found voice and great joy in writing articles, books and curriculum for many publications within the church world. Her greatest joy, however, is delighting in her two children. She is originally from Wisconsin and proudly claims her “cheese head” and GB Packer heritage while her family insists upon supporting soccer as the purist form of football and celebrating their Mayan heritage!
