Amate House

In collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago, DePaul University Ministry sponsors a year-long intentional community rooted in Faith, Service, Community, and simple Living. Each year ten undergraduate students are selected to live in an intentional Catholic faith-based community on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. A community of DePaul student-led organizations seeking to promote the dignity of all beings by following the example of St. Vincent de Paul.

Service Immersions

Work, live, and build relationships with over 12 marginalized communities throughout the United States and the Americas during Spring and Winter breaks: Students deliver meals to persons infected with HIV, repair and build home in Appalachia, learn about and participate in non-violent peace activism, tutor children on an Apache Reservation, give time and friendship to families in a poor barrio in South America, or live on the Mexican-US border learning about the complex economic and social issues of immigration today. University-wide Service Days

Vincentian Service Day is the first Saturday of May and brings together 1,000 volunteers from the university community to serve our community partners. University Ministry also can assist any large DePaul group in establishing a service experience that meets both the service site's needs and the group's needs to truly make a difference.
